Tibo's Day 4 | Instant steering and GPT-6.1 Sol Ultrafast
Steering responds sooner to new instructions during a task. Ultrafast starts rolling out across API, Codex and Work; plan eligibility needs its own check.

An active task may be changing the wrong area or missing a constraint. Prompt correction can reduce wasted work. Day 4 targets that interaction: Tibo says steering is now instant, allowing the model to respond sooner to a change of direction during execution.
Steering changes an ongoing task
For example, while several files are being edited, you might add “handle only the login page first” or correct a misunderstood requirement. These illustrate the announced interaction. Changes already made to files or external systems still need review.
This differs from Day 14’s editing of earlier messages: steering adds direction during execution, while editing an old message returns to an earlier prompt position.
Ultrafast’s comparison and scope
The same post quotes @OpenAIDevs: GPT-6.1 Sol Ultrafast began rolling out that day to the API, Codex and ChatGPT Work. The official performance claim is up to 8× Sol Standard’s speed. Tools and workload still affect whole-task duration.
A plan-availability question under the post identifies a useful distinction. The announcement names product surfaces, without a complete subscription eligibility table. Check whether your account can select the mode, then consult its applicable usage or billing guidance. Unverified prices in replies are not used here.
