Tibo announced a usage reset in his Day 17 post, then added a timing reply: “Lands tomorrow before 10am PST.” Taken literally, the deadline is October 22, 18:00 UTC; if PST refers loosely to local daylight time, it is 17:00 UTC. The two messages checked for this article announce an upcoming reset; neither confirms completion.

Which day is “tomorrow before 10am”?

Message or timing basis UTC Beijing / Taipei (UTC+8)
Day 17 post published October 22, 06:55:22 October 22, 14:55:22
Timing reply published October 22, 06:55:54 October 22, 14:55:54
Deadline under literal PST (UTC−8) October 22, 18:00 October 23, 02:00
Deadline if local PDT (UTC−7) was intended October 22, 17:00 October 23, 01:00

When the reply was posted, the local Pacific time was still October 21, 23:55 PDT. This is why CRW interprets tomorrow as October 22 there. Day 17 is filed under the October 21 series date, with this article’s publication date recorded separately.

The main post calls it reset day today; the reply immediately afterward gives tomorrow before 10am as the delivery expectation. CRW uses the more specific reply for its countdown and preserves the literal PST conversion. Before gives a deadline boundary: delivery may happen earlier, and reaching zero still requires a later confirmation.

Plans, usage windows and reset type

Neither post lists eligible plans, identifies the usage windows affected or says a banked reset will be issued. A request for a banked reset in the replies is a user request, rather than evidence of the delivery method.

OpenAI’s one-time reset guidance explains that eligibility, covered limits and redemption conditions can differ between offers. This announcement therefore does not establish a permanent allowance increase or guarantee a reset button that can be saved for later.

Check your own allowance

Open your usage dashboard, or enter /status in an active CLI session. Check the account and workspace you are using, the allowance name, remaining usage and any reset time shown. The official help article above lists these lookup methods.

For a before-and-after comparison, keep timestamps for the same account and allowance; one account’s change describes that account. See the usage dashboard and shared limits guide for the practical checks. The reset updates page holds this announcement and countdown; history keeps archived confirmation records.
