Tibo’s Day 24 post introduces texting your dot. ChatGPT’s documentation says this is a beta rolling out to ChatGPT Pro users in the United States. The announcement does not make it available to every plan or region.

What texting adds

You can send a dot text, photos, or voice notes through iMessage or Android RCS. The dot can send relevant updates and may link back to ChatGPT when it needs approval. It can use relevant context from your ChatGPT conversations and connected channels, along with plugins you connected.

This is a one-to-one channel: only you can text your dot, and it only texts you. Setting it up does not give your dot or OpenAI access to your other text conversations. Group chats, phone calls and FaceTime are not supported through texting; calling a dot remains available separately in ChatGPT.

How eligible users set it up

  1. In the ChatGPT mobile app, desktop app or desktop browser, open your dot’s profile and select Texting.
  2. Enter and verify your phone number, then save the contact card you receive.
  3. Send a message. For iMessage, use the verified number; on Android, enable RCS in the messaging app.

The original Day 24 post was published at 01:49:26 UTC on October 29, corresponding to October 28 in Pacific time. It describes a feature, not a usage reset. See the 28-day index for other days.
