Tibo’s Day 25 post announces increased limits for Pro 100, Pro 200, Pro 500 and Business Premium, effective that day. OpenAI’s updated Pro guidance gives important detail: for Work and Codex, Pro 100 and Pro 500 receive twice their previous allowance, while the result for Pro 200 depends on which allowance the account already had.
What changes for each plan
| Plan or seat | Work and Codex allowance |
|---|---|
| Pro 100 and Pro 500 | Twice the previous included allowance, according to OpenAI. |
| Pro 200, previously higher allowance | The announced reduction is canceled; the higher allowance stays the same. |
| Pro 200, previously lower allowance | The lower allowance doubles to match the higher allowance. New Pro 200 subscriptions receive that same allowance. |
| Business Premium | Tibo announces doubled limits; the post does not give a detailed per-product breakdown. |
| Plus | OpenAI’s Pro help page says its usage is unchanged. |
OpenAI says existing subscribers receive the updated Work and Codex allowance automatically without waiting for renewal. All Pro 200 subscriptions now have the same allowance, and the price remains $200 per month. Keeping the higher Pro 200 allowance does not mean it doubles again.
Why the Pro 200 clarification matters
In his earlier announcement, Tibo described a new Pro 200 calculation that would produce roughly half the previous API-dollar-equivalent budget. The help center later described a temporary transition for eligible existing subscribers. OpenAI now says the reduction announced in its September 29 email is canceled. The earlier CRW Pro 200 article has been corrected to reflect this change.
The updated Pro guidance also separates Chat from Work and Codex: Pro 100 and Pro 500 retain their current weekly GPT-6 Pro message limits in Chat; the lower Pro 200 Chat limit rises to match the higher one. A higher subscription allowance does not guarantee twice as many completed tasks: model, context and settings affect consumption.
What about dot usage?
Tibo says extended dot limits will continue for now and dot usage remains separate from default usage; he gives no new end date. The dot documentation distinguishes conversations with your dot from tasks it starts or manages in Work or Codex: those delegated tasks count toward the respective Work or Codex limits. Do not assume every task a dot launches is outside your allowance.
Check your own usage dashboard and account or workspace. This is a plan-allowance change, not an announced one-time reset; it also does not change the separate subscription API credit benefit.
